Ryan Murphy's "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" is an example of the brand undermining the mission

I'm so disappointed with this new series from Ryan Murphy... it feels like they're more focused on making Dahmer look relatable than actually exposing the dark secrets behind his crimes ๐Ÿ˜’. I mean, come on, Evan Peters as the lead? It's all about giving him a sympathetic role instead of highlighting the real-life victims and their families ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And don't even get me started on how they're trying to sell us this show like it's some kind of entertainment program instead of a serious drama about social justice issues ๐Ÿ“บ.

I think what bothers me most is that they're trying to humanize Dahmer, but in doing so, they're perpetuating the very mythos that we should be critiquing ๐Ÿค”. It feels like they're more interested in making a star out of Peters than in actually exploring the systemic injustices that led to Dahmer's actions ๐Ÿ’ธ. And what about Glenda's character? She's just forced into becoming this narrative voice instead of getting some real screen time or development ๐Ÿ‘€.

Overall, I think Ryan Murphy's team is really missing the point of what makes a great true crime drama... it's not about making your lead look relatable or sympathetic, it's about shedding light on the dark underbelly of our society ๐Ÿ’ก.

I just finished watching this show and I gotta say, I'm really disappointed ๐Ÿค”. I think Ryan Murphy's trying to tackle some big issues like systemic injustice and societal ills but he ends up focusing on the wrong things. By making Evan Peters' portrayal of Dahmer so sympathetic, it feels like they're more interested in entertainment than actual storytelling. And what's with the way they're using Niecy Nash as this narrator figure? It feels forced ๐Ÿ“บ. I think they should've taken a step back and focused on telling the real-life stories of those affected by Dahmer's crimes instead of trying to humanize him. That would've made for a much more impactful show in my opinion ๐Ÿ’”.

๐Ÿ˜’ I'm really disappointed with this show. It feels like they're trying too hard to make Dahmer a sympathetic character instead of focusing on the harm he caused. ๐Ÿค• And Evan Peters' performance just comes across as weird, like they're more interested in making him look good than telling the story of real people who were murdered by Dahmer. ๐Ÿ™„ The show could have been so much more thought-provoking if they'd stuck to the facts and really explored the societal issues that led to his crimes. Instead, it just feels like a glorified true crime movie ๐ŸŽฌ. And what's up with Niecy Nash's character being made into a narrator? It's just lazy storytelling ๐Ÿ™ƒ. Overall, I think Ryan Murphy's team missed the mark on this one ๐Ÿ˜”.

๐Ÿค” This show is like, so messed up man... They're trying to tell us something deep but then they go and make it all about this dude's freaky face and Evan Peters' acting ๐Ÿคช What's the point of watching a show that's supposed to be about social justice if you're just gonna focus on the monster instead of the systemic issues? It feels like they're just trying to cash in on true crime vibes rather than actually saying something meaningful ๐Ÿ’ธ And yeah, it's super weird how they prioritize Peters' performance over the real-life victims and their families... Like, what's the story really supposed to be about again? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I think the show is a total win ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ! Ryan Murphy's team nailed it by making Dahmer super relatable and sympathetic - who doesn't love a tragic figure? ๐Ÿ˜Š Evan Peters absolutely crushed it as Jeffrey, bringing so much depth to the character. I loved how Glenda Nash stepped up as the narrator, it was like she was having a real conversation with us about what's really going on in America ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. And let's be real, the whole thing feels way more " entertainment" than some boring documentary - that's what we need more of! ๐Ÿ“บ

I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN RYAN MURPHY'S LATEST SERIES ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘Ž IT FEELS LIKE THEY'RE TRYING TO MAKE DAHMER OUT TO BE SOME KIND OF SYMPATHETIC CHARACTER INSTEAD OF SHINING A LIGHT ON THE SYSTEMIC INJUSTICES THAT LED TO HIS ACTIONS ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. BY FOCUSING SO MUCH ON EVAN PETERS' PERFORMANCE, THEY'RE ACTUALLY DISTRACTING FROM THE REAL ISSUES AT HAND ๐Ÿ’”. I GET IT, THOUGHT-PROVOKING DRAMA IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE SOME FLAIR, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF HONORING THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES ๐Ÿ™.
