Local teens make a difference in their community by doing the right thing.
Nine students from Miami-Dade County were recently recognized by the City of Miami Police Department for showcasing remarkable leadership, bravery, and compassion. This commendation is part of the department's "Do the Right Thing" program, which honors individuals who demonstrate extraordinary kindness and selflessness towards others.
A pool of 700 applicants was narrowed down to these nine exceptional students, all of whom were lauded for their ability to de-escalate conflicts and take responsibility for their peers. Their actions are a testament to the positive impact that young people can have on their communities.

i mean who doesnt love seein young ppl makin moves 4 good? its so awesome 2 c them takin initiative & lead by example 
like wut kinda world would we be livin in if every teen was as caring & compassionate as dese ones?! dey r showin us all dat kindness matters & can make a real diff in our communities

those kids are literally making a difference in people's lives with just their actions and it's amazing to see! it shows that we don't have to be in positions of power to make an impact, anyone can do good deeds and spread positivity

. I mean, I'm all for praising kids for being kind and stuff, but isn't it time we make our online communities a little safer for everyone? These nine students did some great things, no doubt, but let's not forget that there are plenty of other issues out there that need attention

It just goes to show that even the smallest actions can have a huge impact when we work together towards a common goal.

It's like they say, 'one good deed leads to another'... these kids are totally rocking that! 
Can we please have more young people like them making waves in our communities?
I mean, who wouldn't want to give a plaque and gift bag to someone who knows how to keep the peace? it's like they're getting paid for being good humans 
. seriously though, it's awesome that these kids are showing us what it means to be leaders and role models. they're not just saving the world one conflict at a time (although, wouldn't that be cool?), but also making their community a better place. I'm not saying we should all start carrying around a "Do the Right Thing" badge or anything 
, but these teens are definitely inspiring us to do some good!
I mean, we often talk about adults having power, but it's awesome to see youth taking charge and showing us what kindness and compassion can do. And can we talk about how cool is it that they got a special plaque and gift bag? It's like, totally deserved!
