Miami Police recognizes 9 students for doing the right thing - WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

Local teens make a difference in their community by doing the right thing.

Nine students from Miami-Dade County were recently recognized by the City of Miami Police Department for showcasing remarkable leadership, bravery, and compassion. This commendation is part of the department's "Do the Right Thing" program, which honors individuals who demonstrate extraordinary kindness and selflessness towards others.

A pool of 700 applicants was narrowed down to these nine exceptional students, all of whom were lauded for their ability to de-escalate conflicts and take responsibility for their peers. Their actions are a testament to the positive impact that young people can have on their communities.

The students received a prestigious plaque and a gift bag as a symbol of appreciation for their caring efforts. This award is not only a recognition of their individual accomplishments but also a celebration of the values they embody: empathy, responsibility, and kindness towards others.

I don't get why they can't just put an option to report bullying on the platform, instead of relying on these "Do the Right Thing" programs ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, I'm all for praising kids for being kind and stuff, but isn't it time we make our online communities a little safer for everyone? These nine students did some great things, no doubt, but let's not forget that there are plenty of other issues out there that need attention ๐Ÿ‘€.

I'm loving this initiative by the City of Miami Police Department ๐Ÿคฉ! It's so inspiring to see young people taking the lead in creating positive change in their community. These students are not only making a difference, but also setting an amazing example for everyone around them. I mean, who wouldn't want to be part of a group that's all about spreading kindness and compassion? ๐Ÿค— It just goes to show that even the smallest actions can have a huge impact when we work together towards a common goal.

I think it's awesome that they're recognizing these students for their bravery in de-escalating conflicts. That takes a lot of courage, especially at such a young age! ๐ŸŒŸ And I love that this award is more than just a recognition of individual achievements - it's also about celebrating the values that we should all strive for: empathy, responsibility, and kindness towards others.

We need more initiatives like this to inspire young people to become leaders in their communities. Let's keep spreading positivity and supporting each other to make a difference! ๐Ÿ’–

I'm loving these young leaders from Miami-Dade County! ๐Ÿ‘ They're setting an amazing example for everyone to follow - showing that even small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in people's lives. I mean, who doesn't love seeing a group of teens come together and help each other out? ๐Ÿค It's like they say, 'one good deed leads to another'... these kids are totally rocking that! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Can we please have more young people like them making waves in our communities?

these teens are straight fire ๐Ÿš’ I mean, who wouldn't want to give a plaque and gift bag to someone who knows how to keep the peace? it's like they're getting paid for being good humans ๐Ÿ˜‚. seriously though, it's awesome that these kids are showing us what it means to be leaders and role models. they're not just saving the world one conflict at a time (although, wouldn't that be cool?), but also making their community a better place. I'm not saying we should all start carrying around a "Do the Right Thing" badge or anything ๐Ÿคฃ, but these teens are definitely inspiring us to do some good!

๐Ÿคฉ I'm loving this vibe of young people making a real difference in their community. It's so inspiring to see these 9 teens get recognized for being amazing leaders and role models. De-escalating conflicts and looking out for each other? That's the kind of stuff that'll make a real impact on the world! ๐ŸŒŽ I mean, we often talk about adults having power, but it's awesome to see youth taking charge and showing us what kindness and compassion can do. And can we talk about how cool is it that they got a special plaque and gift bag? It's like, totally deserved! ๐Ÿ’–
