Man charged with stabbing 2 teens with fork on flight from Chicago to Germany

US National Charged with Stabbing Teens on Lufthansa Flight Over Germany

A 28-year-old Indian national, Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon while traveling by air after allegedly stabbing two teenage boys on board a Lufthansa flight from Chicago to Frankfurt. According to federal authorities, the attack occurred on Saturday as the plane was en route.

Usiripalli, who was not in lawful possession of a US visa, had been studying biblical studies in the country before the incident. When confronted by flight attendants, he threatened them, pretending to pull the trigger on an imaginary gun and slapping another female passenger in the process.

The victims, both 17 years old, suffered non-life-threatening injuries - one stab wound to the back of his head and another to his shoulder area. The aircraft was diverted to Boston Logan International Airport after authorities became aware of the incident, where Usiripalli was immediately apprehended.

If convicted, Usiripalli faces up to ten years imprisonment or three years supervised release, as well as a fine of $250,000. A court date in Boston has been set for later.

omg u cant believe this dude stab 2 teens on a plane!! i mean what is wrong with ppl these days?? they got no regard 4 human life whatsoever. like he's tryna get some sorta thrill or somethin. & whats with the whole pretending to pull a gun thing? really? thats just stupid. anyways, hopefully hes gettin the max sentence 4 this, so other ppl dont feel safe flyin by air. 10 yrs is the least he should get ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’”

OMG, like, what's going on with this dude?! ๐Ÿคฏ He just randomly attacks 2 teens on a plane over Germany and now he's facing serious charges? Like, assault with a deadly weapon is NO JOKE! ๐Ÿšซ I mean, can you even imagine if that had been you or someone you know? The thought of being stabbed on a plane is terrifying enough, but to have it happen while the flight is in mid-air is just crazy. And to make matters worse, he's not even supposed to be in the country! ๐Ÿ˜ก How did he even get past all those checks and screenings? This whole thing is just so frustrating and disturbing... ๐Ÿšซ

I cant even believe this is happening on planes now ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I remember flying with my family back in the day and we had to be super careful not to get too rowdy or make any sudden movements. Now it's like you can stab someone just because? ๐Ÿคฏ This Praneeth guy must've been having some major meltdown or something. And can you believe he was studying biblical studies, of all things! I swear, back in the 90s when I was in high school, we didn't even know how to use a computer, let alone stab someone on a plane ๐Ÿค“. Anyway, I hope these two teens are okay and that the dude gets the max time he deserves ๐Ÿ’ฏ

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ so another "studying" in the US who decides to bring their inner psychopath with them... like what's next? gonna stab some tourists on the beach or something? ๐Ÿ–๏ธ anyways, glad those teens are okay tho... don't know how a 17-yr-old is even supposed to defend himself against someone with a knife tho ๐Ÿ˜’ and btw, $250k fine? that's cute, like it's gonna make him regret his actions or something ๐Ÿค‘

can't believe this is still happening on planes ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ˜ฑ, like how does someone get so aggressive? and what's with the visa situation tho... didn't he know that was a problem? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway, 17 year olds getting stabbed on a plane is crazy ๐Ÿ˜ฒ they must've been super scared, poor guys ๐Ÿ’” and now this guy could be looking at 10 years in prison for it โฐ guess you could say his studies didn't exactly prepare him for life in the US ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‘Ž

I mean, what's going on with people like this?! 28 and stabbing two teens on a plane? That's just not right ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿšซ. And to think he wasn't even following the rules - no visa and all that drama. I get it, traveling can be stressful, but come on! If you're gonna lose your cool, do it somewhere else, you know?

And what really gets me is that these two teens were only 17! They should be out there enjoying their life, not worrying about some stranger's crazy antics on a plane. I feel so bad for them ๐Ÿค•. The fact that he pretended to pull the trigger and slapped another girl - that's just sick ๐Ÿ˜ท.

And have you seen the charges he's facing? 10 years or three years supervised release? That's harsh, but I guess it is what it is ๐Ÿ’”. But still, a fine of $250,000? I don't think so! We should be focusing on mental health support and stress management programs for travelers, not just locking people up ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.

Anyway, I'm just shook by this whole thing ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. I mean, what's next?! People attacking each other on planes left and right? No way ๐Ÿšซ. We need to get our priorities straight and keep those of us who are innocent from getting hurt ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿคฏ what's going on with people traveling abroad?? like, I get it, stress can be real but stabbing people on a plane? that's just insane ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ USiripalli had no visa and was studying biblical studies, like maybe he should've kept his personal issues to himself? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ two 17-year-olds got hurt and now this guy might face serious time. hope he gets the help he needs instead of just time in jail ๐Ÿ’”

Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฑ this is so crazy! Like what even possessed that guy to go all psycho on those poor teenagers? And who does he think he is, threatening the flight attendants and slapping someone?! That's some serious bad behavior right there. I mean, I know we've had some wild stories about flights before, but this one takes the cake. Did he not realize that was a super serious crime? And what's with his visa situation - did he think being in the US would just magically make all his problems disappear?! Anyway, yeah, ten years sounds like a pretty reasonable sentence to me... ๐Ÿค•

what's going on here tho ๐Ÿค”? some dude just stab two teens on an airplane and everyone's all like "oh no" but where was the security? like how did he even get past them without anyone noticing? ๐Ÿšซ also, 10 years is kinda harsh for a first offense, you feel? seems like it's more like a "hey, we're gonna give you a slap on the wrist and let you go with some fines" vibe ๐Ÿ’ธ anyways, glad no one died tho ๐Ÿ˜Œ

This is wild ๐Ÿคฏ, stabbing people on a plane over Germany?! What's going on with US visas these days? Can't they check if you're legit before letting you fly around the country? ๐Ÿšซ I mean, Usiripalli was already studying biblical studies in the States, so it's not like he was just some random dude who happened to have a gun and a bad attitude. Anyway, glad those two teens are okay, but what about all the other people on that flight?! Shouldn't they've been safer too? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

OMG, like, can't believe this guy did that on a plane ๐Ÿคฏ... I mean, who gets into a fight on an international flight and then pulls out some imaginary gun? Sounds super fun for everyone involved ๐Ÿ˜‚. And poor teens got stabbed, so no thanks to being a hero for him ๐Ÿ’”. Guess they should've just put their phones away and enjoyed the in-flight movie like normal people ๐Ÿ“บ. Anyways, hope these two youngins make a speedy recovery - but who knows if they'll ever be able to say they didn't have a crazy plane story to tell ๐Ÿ˜‚.

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ this is so crazy!! I'm literally shaking right now thinking about what happened on that flight ๐Ÿ˜ฑ how can someone do such a thing?!?! Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli thought he could just stab those teens and get away with it?!? like no way ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ the fact that he was threatening everyone and pretending to pull the trigger is so unsettling ๐Ÿคฃ I'm glad those boys are going to be okay, non-life-threatening injuries can't be ignored though ๐Ÿค• Boston authorities did an amazing job in apprehending him ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช at least they're taking responsibility for their actions now

๐Ÿšจ This whole thing got me thinking... why do we have these lax airport security protocols in the States? I mean, this guy was able to fly around with no visa and cause all this chaos on a plane ๐Ÿคฏ. It's like, what's the point of even having border control if you're not gonna enforce it properly?

And let me ask you, if you're an international student studying in the US, how much support are you really getting? Are they making sure you've got the necessary resources to succeed? Or are we just letting them fly under the radar? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's like, we need to rethink our entire immigration system and make it more streamlined, so we can focus on keeping people safe.

And what about these flight attendants who responded so calmly in this situation? Are they getting the training they need to deal with emergency situations like this? I mean, if someone's threatening them on a plane, you gotta take action ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช. It's like, we're not just talking about air travel safety, we're talking about human life. And that's what it's all about ๐Ÿ™.

๐Ÿค• this is so crazy! like who pulls a gun on passengers and slaps someone? what was he even thinking? and why didn't the flight attendants intervene sooner? ๐Ÿค” i feel bad for those two teens, stabbed over germany... meanwhile, praneeth kumar usiripalli, he's gonna face some serious time if he gets convicted. ten years in prison or $250k fine... either way, it's a long road to recovery for the victims. and another thing, how did someone with an expired visa even get on that plane? ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

OMG THIS IS CRAZY!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE SOMEONE WOULD ACT LIKE THAT ON A PLANE!!! 28 YEAR OLD GUYS STABBY 2 TEENS AND THEN HE THREATEN THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿšซ?!?! I MEAN, I KNOW HE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE US WITHOUT A VISA BUT COME ON!!! AND NOW HE COULD BE LOOKING AT 10 YEARS IN PRISON OR $250K FINE ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ˜ฒ BOSTON IS GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS ONE!

๐Ÿ˜• This incident is really disturbing, especially since the suspect wasn't even following basic travel rules and was pretending to have a gun on a flight full of innocent people ๐Ÿšซ. It's shocking that someone could get so aggressive and violent in such a confined space.

As an outsider looking in, it highlights how serious security measures need to be taken when you're traveling internationally โ€“ the US needs to tighten up its air travel regulations to prevent something like this from happening again ๐Ÿ›ฌ. And as for Usiripalli's background, studying biblical studies doesn't necessarily mean he had a clear head or was mentally stable enough to handle such an intense situation... ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿšซ Oh man that's so crazy what happened on the plane ๐Ÿ›ฌ๐Ÿ˜ต! I'm just glad those two teens are gonna be okay ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•. Like, stabbing people is SO not cool ๐Ÿ˜’. And poor flight attendants having to deal with that drama ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Anyone think the guy was just having a bad day or something? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜•

I mean, US visa issues aside, who carries an imaginary gun on a plane? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽฏ That's some weird behavior right there ๐Ÿšซ. I'm all for helping those in need but stabbing people ain't the answer ๐Ÿ’ช.

Anywayz, fingers crossed that Usiripalli gets some help and learns from this bad decision ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ’•. Ten years max is still a long time ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The system's got to protect its passengers, tho ๐Ÿšซโœˆ๏ธ

man this is crazy! thinkin bout them people who can just get on planes w/ no visa and start causin trouble like that? shouldn't they know betta? anyway gotta wonder what was goin thru his head when he pulled out that knife... seems like a lot of stress or somethin cause he's been studyin biblical studies ๐Ÿค”. anyways, hope the teens recover quick from those stab wounds ๐Ÿ’จ. can't believe this happened on a plane w/ so many people around ๐Ÿšซ. also, 10 yrs in prison sounds like a pretty steep penalty if u ask me, feel bad for the guy but not really ๐Ÿ˜.

๐Ÿค” This is so crazy. I mean, who carries an imaginary gun on a plane and starts slapping people?! ๐Ÿšซ Like, what's going through that person's head? And those two teens could've been seriously hurt... 17 years old, stabbed twice! That's just wrong ๐Ÿ˜ก. And to make matters worse, he was in the country studying biblical studies... you'd think they'd be aware of some basic rules and laws ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I'm all for being different and studying weird stuff, but come on! You've got to respect people's personal space and safety. I wonder what led him to behave like that on a plane? Was he stressed or something? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Anyway, 10 years in prison sounds about right... seems like a pretty fitting punishment for putting lives at risk ๐Ÿ’ฏ.
