A father-to-be was brutally killed in a single punch outside an Arizona bar just weeks before his son's birth, authorities said. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Thomas John "TJ" Pizzitola, was sucker punched to death during a fight at the bar on Tuesday, October 25, just days before he and his pregnant girlfriend were set to meet their baby.
Pizzitola's heartbroken wife, Krisan, said her husband had always dreamed of being an amazing father. "All he ever wanted to be was the best father ever and the best husband," she said in a statement to police.
The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Joshua Lee, who is also the father of Pizzitola's unborn child. Lee reportedly told authorities that he had been arguing with Pizzitola over his behavior during the bar fight.
Lee was charged with second-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond at a local jail.
