‘Family Matters’ Rewatch Podcast, Co-Hosted by Two Stars of ’90s Fan-Favorite Sitcom, Coming From iHeartPodcasts

Beloved sitcom "Family Matters" is getting a nostalgic reboot in the form of a podcast, co-hosted by two of its stars. The show, which originally aired from 1989 to 1998 and was known for its lovable characters and witty humor, will be revisited through the eyes of Kellie Williams, who played Laura Winslow, and Telma Hopkins, who portrayed Aunt Rachel.

The podcast, titled "Welcome to the Family," will feature the duo sharing their personal reflections on making the show, as well as discussing their favorite episodes and characters. Each episode will also include conversations with fellow cast members, including Reggie VelJohnson (Carl Winslow) and Shawn Harrison (Waldo Faldo).

In a statement, Williams expressed her excitement about revisiting the show and reconnecting with fans. "To this day, 'Family Matters' is one of the most-streamed sitcoms... We hope fans enjoy listening to these episodes as much as we have enjoyed making them!"

Hopkins echoed Williams' sentiments, describing the experience of reliving her time on the show as a highlight of her career. The podcast will premiere on November 5th and new episodes will be released every Wednesday.

The "Welcome to the Family" podcast is produced by Audiation, a New York-based podcast company that specializes in commissioned and original series. This latest project joins other notable titles such as "Gender Spiral with Ally Beardsley and Babette Thomas," "Leaving the Island," and "Four Strings and the Truth."

For fans of the original show, this podcast promises to be a treat. The ensemble cast of "Family Matters" included many talented actors, including Jo Marie Payton, Rosetta LeNoire, Darius McCrary, Kellie Shanygne Williams, Valerie Jones, Joseph and Julius Wright, Telma Hopkins, Jaimee Foxworth, Michelle Thomas, Orlando Brown, and Judyann Elder.

As the show's popularity endures, it's clear that "Family Matters" remains a beloved part of many people's childhoods. The podcast promises to bring back memories and laughter for fans old and new.

🎙️ I'm not sure if reviving an old sitcom is really about nostalgia or just about the thrill of reliving past glories, but it got me thinking... what makes a show truly timeless? Is it the characters, the plotlines, or the people who inhabited them for so long? For me, it's the way a show can evoke emotions and memories that still linger long after the credits roll. And now, with this podcast, I wonder if we're not just revisiting the past, but also re-examining our own relationship with childhood and what makes us laugh, cry, or feel nostalgic... 😊

Ugh, great, just what we need more 80s nostalgia flooding our ears 🙄. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to revive an outdated sitcom by having the original stars host a podcast? It's gonna be all sappy and sentimental, with people reminiscing about the "good old days" 🤷‍♀️. And don't even get me started on how they'll try to make it relatable for new fans... like, what's the point of that? Just gonna confuse everyone who didn't grow up watching the show 😒. And those old cast members will probably just be talking about their "highlight" from the show, like, "Oh yeah, I got to wear this cool outfit in one episode"... yawn 🤯. Can we just fast forward to something with some actual substance? 💁‍♀️

🎉 I'm super stoked about this podcast, y'all! 🤩 It's gonna be so cool to hear Kellie & Telma's behind-the-scenes stories about making the show 😂. And can we talk about how iconic "Family Matters" is? 🙌 Still one of the most-streamed sitcoms out there, and for good reason - those characters are EVERYTHING 💖. I'm hyped to hear them dish on their fave episodes & characters 🤓. Reggie & Shawn better be on that podcast too, amirite? 😆 Can't wait to tune in on Nov 5th 🎧 #FamilyMattersReboot #PodcastGoals #90sNostalgia #WelcomeToTheFamily

I gotta say, this is some crazy stuff 🤯... I mean, what's up with the timing? November 5th just happens to be around the time when the midterms are gonna be, like, super intense 🗳️. And who's behind this podcast, Audiation? Sounds like a legit company, but have you noticed how all these new shows and podcasts are popping up? It's like they're trying to distract us from the real issues 😏... and what's with Shawn Harrison on the cast list? I thought he was, like, dead or something 🤷‍♂️. But for real tho, I'm low-key excited about this podcast, 'cause who doesn't wanna hear more of Carl Winslow's witty one-liners? 😉

omg I'm so down for this!!! 🤩 it's amazing how some shows can still hold up even after all these years, and it sounds like "Family Matters" is gonna be a blast from the past - love that Kellie and Telma are co-hosting it, they're both hilarious 😂👯. I'm definitely tuning in on premiere day, Nov 5th, can't wait to hear their stories and chats about the show's history 📻💬

OMG 😂 I'm so down for this! A reboot or revamp of a classic sitcom like Family Matters is always gonna be a hit, especially with the right cast coming together. Kellie and Telma are perfect co-hosts - they were already awesome on the show as Aunt Rachel and Laura Winslow! 🤣 Can't wait to hear their thoughts and stories about making the show all those years ago. The fact that new episodes will be released every Wednesday is just right, not too much, not too little 💯 I'm gonna have to listen in and see what all the fuss is about... might even get me nostalgic for my childhood! 🎉

omg I'm so down for this 🤩! who else grew up watching family matters? 😂 i remember loving aunt rachel's sassiness and carl's dry wit 😂 it's crazy that kellie and telma are teaming up to bring back the show... will they be discussing any old behind-the-scenes stories or drama? 🤫 also, what do you think about them revisiting the original cast members for each episode? 🤔

omg I just heard about this and I'm like so excited 🤩! but wait what's up with podcasting? do we need one of these? I mean I love Family Matters, it was literally my go-to show when I was a kid 😂. how often are they gonna be releasing new eps? and will there be any fun sketches or games on the podcast? I'm low-key worried that Telma Hopkins is still gonna make those same annoying 'I'm Aunt Rachel' jokes 🤣. btw, can someone explain to me what Audiation is? is it like a studio or something?

🎙️ I'm so stoked about this podcast! It's crazy how nostalgic we're getting. I mean, who doesn't love Steve Urkel's antics? 😂 It's gonna be sick to hear Kellie and Telma dish out their favorite memories from the show. And can you imagine having Reggie on the show too?! 🤣 Reggie, man... that dude was a character. I'm down for this podcast to drop every Wednesday, can't wait to get my retro sitcom fix!

OMG 🤯 I'm so down for this! A podcast rebooting "Family Matters" is just what we need to brighten up our day 😊. Kellie and Telma's banter on the show was always so iconic 💁‍♀️, and now they get to share their behind-the-scenes stories with us? Genius! 🤓 I'm loving the idea of hearing from other cast members too - it'll be like revisiting old times 🎉. Can't wait for November 5th to arrive so we can dive in 😆!
