Adam is a 2002 graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was a dual-major in Finance and Management Information Systems. While at La Salle, Adam excelled as a student-athlete competing in football and track.

After graduation, Adam worked as a computer programmer for one of the world’s largest custodian banks, rising to the position of Assistant Vice President of Technology Delivery. In his spare time, Adam mentored high school students and participated in various community service activities.

Through these experiences, Adam realized that his true purpose in life would not be achieved through success in corporate America. As a result, in 2008, Adam enrolled at the University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, Ohio in order to expand his ability to help others and make a direct impact in their lives.

While in law school, Adam worked on campus and served as Executive President of the Student Bar Association. Adam also completed several internships including the Ohio House of Representatives and the Dayton Unit NAACP.

After graduation in 2011, Adam commissioned into the U.S. Army. While on active duty for six and a half years, Adam deployed to Afghanistan where he served as the senior defense attorney for the region. Adam's other military assignments include serving as a prosecutor, employment law attorney, and part-time military magistrate. Adam received an Honorable discharge from active duty in 2018 and has continued his service in the U.S. Army Reserve where he currently holds the rank of Major.

After leaving active duty military service, Adam moved to Atlanta and was hired as an Assistant District Attorney in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Adam was assigned to the Gang, Forfeiture, and Major Drug Unit, prosecuting serious felony offenses with a specialization in criminal street gangs. In January 2021, Adam left the District Attorney’s Office and launched his private law practice, The Petty Firm, LLC.

Adam is authorized to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and trial courts in Georgia and Ohio. He is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Gate City Bar Association, and the Atlanta Unit NAACP. Adam’s passion for mentoring young adults continues as he is a volunteer and mentor with the Next Level Boys Academy.

Notwithstanding Adam’s volunteerism, career accomplishments, and accolades, Adam is a dedicated family man. He is happily married to his law school sweetheart, Tanesha, an employment law attorney. Together, they reside in the West Cascade neighborhood of Atlanta with their sixteen-year-old pup, Bruno.
