Richard Ashcroft: 'Why not Sir Liam and Sir Noel?'

When asked why he hasn't been knighted like fellow Brits Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft has grown tired of the tradition. In his opinion, it's a bit too much for people who have done little more than run around tracks or jump over hurdles to be recognized in such a grand manner.

Ashcroft believes that individuals who bring significant economic value to society through their passion should not be rewarded with knighthoods just because of their achievements. He likens himself to those who give their lives to ensure the well-being of society, but who may never receive official recognition for their efforts.

In an attempt to poke fun at the system, Ashcroft jokingly mentioned that he would have been knighted long ago if he had accepted an invitation from Prince Charles to Windsor Castle. However, he stated that this was likely a vetting process, implying that it's difficult to gauge someone's worth simply based on their achievements.

The Oasis star has also poked fun at the notion of Sir Richard Ashcroft himself, with Liam Gallagher jokingly suggesting that Ashcroft would be an easy opponent in a fight. However, when asked who had better hair – himself or his friend – the answer was unclear.

Ashcroft has also revealed his interest in football and even went on to briefly join Rotherham United. Now as a seasoned player, he joked about what it would take for him to become the manager of Manchester United, implying that they need to "get fucking grounded fast" and adopt a more positive culture.

Throughout our conversation, Ashcroft has emphasized his concerns about technology's increasing influence on society. While he believes that AI is inevitable, he worries that humans will struggle to distinguish between reality and artificial intelligence in the future. However, as an artist who values authenticity, he sees great songwriting as a key to bridging this gap.

Finally, when asked what he would say to God if he met him, Ashcroft offered a humble prayer for forgiveness. However, there was no mention of a burning desire for fame or recognition in the form of knighthoods – at least not from our conversation with Richard Ashcroft.

🤔 I think it's kinda funny how Rich Ashcroft is throwing shade at the whole knight thing. Like, yeah, he's had a successful music career and all, but come on, it's just an invitation to Windsor Castle! 🎉 Maybe he's just trying to keep it humble? On a more serious note, I do think we need to reevaluate what we're recognizing with these honors. Is it really just about how much money someone makes or what they can do on stage? What about people who are doing real change in their communities or making art that inspires others? It's all about perspective, you know? 💡

I'm so done with the whole knighthood thing 🙄. It just seems like these days it's all about who you know and who's got deep pockets, rather than actual talent or dedication. I mean, come on, Liam and Noel get knighted for being in Oasis, but Richard Ashcroft isn't even close to that level of impact? It's just not fair 🤷‍♂️.

And don't even get me started on the whole vetting process 🚫. Like, what's the criteria here? How much does someone have to do for you, Prince Charles, before you consider them worthy of a title? It's all so... patronizing 😒.

I think Richard Ashcroft is right on when it comes to this though – we should be recognizing people who bring real value to society, not just those who are famous or have a good PR team 🤑. Maybe instead of knighthoods, we should be giving out awards for actual achievements, like the Nobel Prize, but with more practical applications 🎯.

And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that Richard Ashcroft is still being poked fun at by his own bandmates? Like, come on guys, give him some respect 💁‍♂️.

omg i'm dying over ashcrofts sass 🤣, like who else could roast the system and still manage to be adorable 😍? seriously though, i kinda get where he's coming from - i mean, it's not all glamour and fame being a rockstar, right? especially when you're seen as part of that whole "oasis era" vibe 🤘. but at the same time, a knighthood would be SO cool... like, can't he just have both? lol maybe ashcroff should start a petition or something 🤔?

I gotta feel for this guy 🤷‍♂️. The whole knighthood thing just seems so... out of touch, you know? Like, Richard's made some amazing music and brought people together through his passion, but is that really enough to warrant a fancy title? I think it's time to rethink how we reward talent and dedication in this country. And what's with the vetting process, huh? Can't we just be genuine for once? 🤪 On a different note, Ashcroft seems like a down-to-earth guy who's not afraid to speak his mind – I love that about him 💕

🤔 I mean, come on... knighthoods are like, super arbitrary. You gotta do something crazy, like save the Queen or something. But if you just make some sick tunes and sell out shows, no one even notices. Richy's got a point about people who actually care about society doing more good than all these 'rockstars'. And what's with the vetting process? Can't they just, like, invite him to tea or something? 🍵😂

I'm actually kinda inspired by his take on AI though... I mean, have you ever tried to explain a joke to an AI? It's like, it gets the punchline but loses the context. It's all about finding that balance between tech and humanity. Richy's right, we need more authentic connections in this world. And who knows, maybe one day he'll be the manager of United... haha 😂
