Quelling public disquiet is worth extra cost of barracks asylum housing, says No 10

🤔 I just don't get why the govt is being so pushy about this barracks thing... I mean, I get it, they wanna save money, but at what cost to the community? 🤑 It's not like it's gonna be a walk-in hostel or somethin'! They're talkin' about hundreds of people livin' in a military base, that's a whole different story. What about the security, the noise, the stress on local services? All these things gotta be considered before they just push this through without thinkin' it thru 🤦‍♂️

I'm literally fuming about this barrack asylum thingy 🤯!!! I mean what's wrong with our gov't? Can't they see that housing asylum seekers in disused military barracks is just a huge mess?! 🚮 First off, it's not like these people are being given a home, they're basically being stuck in some damp, cramped room with no decent amenities. And don't even get me started on the whole "quelling public disquiet" thing 🙄... what about respecting local communities' concerns?! They have a right to be worried about all these strangers moving into their midst.

And let's talk logistics for a sec 💭... I mean, it's not like this is some grand experiment that can't go wrong. We've seen it happen before and we know it's a recipe for disaster 🌪️. I'm so tired of our gov't just glossing over the problems and blaming everyone else for their mistakes 🙄. And what really gets my goat is when they claim it's "too expensive"... like that's even an excuse 😒. We can afford to put in a bit of effort to get this right, but noooo... they'd rather just sweep everything under the rug and hope for the best 🤦‍♀️.

It's just so frustrating because I know we could do better 👎. We should be welcoming and inclusive, not treating asylum seekers like some kind of afterthought 🚫. Come on, gov't! Get it together! 💪

idk why ppl are still hating on this plan tho... i mean it might not be perfect but its a start, right? 10k people dont have nowhere to stay & the gov is trying to help. cant we just focus on getting them shelter & food for now?

im not saying its gonna be easy but whats the alternative? leaving them out in the cold? that would be way worse. i mean im all for community engagement & understanding but come on, ppl are still salty about this 5 yrs ago... time to move on 🤷‍♀️
