I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole death penalty thing

. Liliana's right, it does look all fancy and humane from the outside, but let's not forget that it's basically a state-sponsored execution

. And those people involved in the actual killing? Forget about getting their names out of the woodworks - anonymity at its finest

.
I'm with Malcolm on this one though, even if someone is guilty, they shouldn't be treated like they're disposable trash

. It's all about setting a precedent for who gets "punished" and who doesn't, and that's just messed up

.
And can we talk about how nobody wants to touch the fact that the system is fundamentally broken? Liliana brought up mass incarceration, but what about the real reasons people are hesitant to say the system can't be improved? Is it just because they don't want to rock the boat or something?
This whole conversation made me even more paranoid about our democracy... I mean, who else is really in charge here?

And don't even get me started on Trump's antics - it's like he's intentionally trying to dismantle everything we hold dear

. Guess that's why they call it " politics as usual"... NOT
