88-year-old man in Montrose accused of pulling gun on neighbor walking dog

An 88-year-old man in Montrose, Texas has been taken into custody after allegedly pulling a gun on a neighbor walking their dog. Patrick Wageman, who has lived on the same block for over three decades, is now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to residents, including Abby Patel and Chelsea Howell, Wageman has a long-standing reputation for warning people away from his lawn. However, he never resorted to physical threats until Monday night, when he allegedly pulled a gun on a man walking his dog.

While some might be surprised by the severity of Wageman's actions, many others expressed disappointment and frustration. "He's just kind of been like, 'Get those dogs off my lawn!' So usually, I would just walk really fast past his house," Patel explained. However, when Wageman was in his backyard, neighbors took extra precautions to avoid him.

The neighborhood is known for its dog lovers, with a sign on the fence across from Wageman's home warning others to steer clear of the area. After Wageman's arrest, some residents have taken the warnings more seriously, as one local dog walker noted, "That makes me a bit nervous to walk around these parts to be honest with you."

πŸ€” This whole thing just seems so obvious... like, what were they expecting? Some dude yelling at people for walking their dogs on his lawn is gonna escalate into actual gun threats? Come on! πŸ˜’ And now he's facing charges and the neighborhood is all shook up. I mean, I get it, people have a right to protect their property, but this is just ridiculous. What's next? Threatening to shoot someone for mowing your lawn wrong? 🚫 This whole thing just needs to settle down already...

Ugh 🀯 this guy is like 88 and he still can't handle his own turf 🏠. I mean, come on, dude, it's just a lawn warning sign 🚫. You don't have to pull out the big guns (literally) over some dogs walking by. It's just not cool. And now he's gonna be stuck in court dealing with this? Not his finest hour πŸ˜•. You'd think after 30+ years, you'd learn how to live with a little inconvenience πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Guess some people never get the message πŸ“£.

😐 just saw this news and i'm like what was that old dude thinkin' 🀯 pulling a gun over a dog? like he knows it's not the dog's fault its owner walked it on his lawn lol idk man, 3 decades on the same block and no one reported him to cops before this πŸš”πŸ’₯

OMG 🀯 what's going on in Montrose, Texas?! This guy Wageman is 88 and still trying to control who can or can't walk their dog on his lawn 🚫😑 Newsflash: just because you've lived in the same block for decades doesn't mean you get to dictate everyone else's behavior πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I'm not saying he doesn't have a right to set boundaries, but using a gun? 😳 That's just crazy talk πŸ’₯. And what's with all these warnings on his lawn sign? πŸ“£ Like, is this neighborhood a joke or something? πŸ˜‚ Anyway, hope Wageman gets the help he needs (or just realizes being 88 doesn't mean you're above the law) πŸ™

πŸ˜• this is so sad πŸ€•, i just can't believe someone would resort to pulling a gun over something like that. it's crazy how one person's actions can scare an entire neighborhood 😬. the fact that this guy has been warning people away from his lawn for years and never got reported or anything is just another layer of tragedy πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. i hope he gets some help and counseling to deal with whatever issues are making him act out like this πŸ’”. it's also kinda sad that now the neighborhood is taking precautions they didn't take before because of one person's actions πŸ˜”.

omg what r they comin at? i mean i feel bad 4 patrick wageman he sounds like he's just tryna protect his lawn lol but pulling a gun on some dude walkin his dog is like totally overkill 🀣. i can see why ppl are disappointed & frustrated, but like, can't we all jus get along? πŸ™„ it's crazy how one person can rile up an whole neighborhood like this...anywayz, hope patrick gets the help he needs & learns 2 deal w/ his lawn situation 😊

πŸ€” I don't get why people haven't just, like, made a bigger deal about Wageman's lawn signs from the start? Like, a clear warning sign and all that jazz. Now we're dealing with a gun-wielding 88-year-old because someone decided to take it too far πŸ˜’. It's not like his yard is, oh I don't know, a national treasure or anything. But seriously, if you're gonna be extra about something, be consistent about it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. And can we talk about how the neighborhood is still dog-friendly? Like, one minute it's all fun and games, the next some dude pulls a gun... πŸΆπŸ’£

omg 🀯 i cant believe this guy pulled a gun on someone walking their pup. its just not cool dude. like, yeah he's had his issues with people trespassing on his lawn and all, but that's no excuse for carrying around a firearm. its crazy how some ppl think they can just wave a gun around and expect everyone to be intimidated into leaving them alone. newsflash: dogs are part of the family, not threats πŸΆπŸ’•

πŸ˜• I'm so down on this guy though πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Like, 88 years old and still got it in him like that πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ. He's been sending out warnings for decades, but this is just not cool 😬. Those neighbors should've known better than to mess with the lawn vigilante 🌳😏. And now they're all nervous about walking their dogs around his house? That's a whole new level of weird πŸ˜…. I'm all about respecting people's space and boundaries, but some folks just need to chill out and not resort to guns πŸŽ―πŸ’”.

I'm low-key surprised that an 88-yr-old dude would get it in like this 🀯... I mean, yeah, we've all got our weird neighbors, but pullin' a gun on someone? That's just not right. It's like, he's been tryin' to keep people out of his yard for years, and then one night it just escalates to this? 😬

I feel bad for the dude who walked his dog and got threatened with a gun. That must've been super scary πŸ€•... And now the whole neighborhood is all like "oh no, we gotta be careful around Mr. Wageman"... I get it, he's got some issues, but 88? That's old school πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ...

Anyway, I hope Patrick gets some help and stuff, 'cause this ain't right πŸ˜’... And maybe next time, someone can just give him a nice chat and invite him to join the neighborhood watch party instead of the jail cell πŸ‘

πŸ˜” I can imagine how scary that must've been for the dog walker and his furry friend... 88 is young by today's standards and it's heartbreaking that he felt the need to resort to violence. πŸ€• His behavior was understandable on a human level, but completely unacceptable in terms of keeping others at bay. 😬 It's a shame that people can get so worked up over lawn rules. 🌱 The warning signs already existed, maybe if more neighbors were open about talking to him, the situation could've been avoided altogether... πŸ’” Now, I just hope he gets the help and support he needs during this tough time. πŸ€—

πŸ€” I mean, come on guys, 88 is old enough to know better! Like, what's the deal with this guy? He's always been a bit of a grump, but that doesn't give him the right to pull a gun on someone walking their dog. It's just not cool, you know? πŸ˜’ And now he's facing some serious charges. I hope he gets some help or something, 'cause it sounds like he's been living in his own little world for too long. πŸ™ The neighborhood is actually doing the right thing by taking extra precautions around him... who can blame them? It's not worth risking their safety over some guy's lawn! 🚫

πŸ€” this is crazy like, I know some people are super particular about their lawns but pulling a gun? that's just insane. and the thing is, it's not like he was protecting himself from intruders or anything... he's been warning people away for years, so it sounds like it was just his way of controlling the situation. πŸ™„ anyway, I'm glad he got taken into custody, but at the same time, I can see why some people are disappointed - it's just not a good look for your community when someone resorts to violence over a lawn dispute πŸ˜’
