Spotify has hiked prices in the UK, marking its second price hike in approximately 18 months. The premium individual plan will now cost £12.99 ($17.24), up from £11.99 ($15.91). Family plans have also increased to £21.99 ($29.18) from £19.99 ($26.53). Meanwhile, the Duo plan has risen to £17.99 ($23.87) from £16.99 ($22.55).
The price increases are attributed to Spotify's revenue growth, which saw a 16% increase in subscription revenue during its second quarter earnings call. CFO Christian Luiga stated that gains in subscribers drove this revenue growth.
This move is not unique to the UK; similar price hikes have been implemented in France and Germany, both of which are significant music markets. The US, Spotify's largest market, could also be next on the list, with numerous analysts predicting a price hike by early 2026.
